Simple Beauty Secrets for a More Youthful Appearance

Your skin is your primary defense from the harshness of the elements. Because of this, it is essential to take good care of your skin to keep it healthy and youthful looking. Here are a few tips to add to your beauty regimen for skin that is supple and beautiful.

1. Hot water opens pores and cold water closes them. This handy bit of knowledge can help make your cleansing routine more effective. Start with some splashes of hot water on your face, followed by your favorite facial cleanser. The hot water opens your pores, allowing you to rinse away dirt and other debris. Once your face is clean, splash a little cold water on your face to cause the pores to close back up, tightening your skin and making it smooth and flawless.

2. Never go to bed while wearing make-up.
Make-up may help you look more attractive during the day, but it does this at the expense of clogged pores. Leaving your make-up on for too long traps dirt and oil in your pores. It is essential to clean your face at night, and give your skin a chance to rest and breathe while you sleep.

3. Soften skin using exfoliation.
Your skin is an organ that naturally renews itself, shedding old layers and producing new cells. However, sometimes your older, dead skin does not come off naturally, and can even build up into rough patches. You can treat these rough areas with a little exfoliation. Using a loofah and your favorite scrubbing cleanser, simply work in gentle circles wherever you feel your skin is getting a little rough. Be careful that you do not exfoliate too often or rub too hard, as this can harm your skin. Once you are done, rinse, and pat the area dry.

4. Increase your Vitamin E.
Vitamin E has long been known as the nutrient that can help produce healthy skin, hair, and nails. Most people get enough vitamin E naturally; however, if you think that you may not be getting enough vitamin E in your diet, consider adding a supplement. Additionally, vitamin E capsules can be broken open and rubbed directly on problem areas such as nail beds and cuticles.

5. Soothe sun burnt skin naturally with aloe vera.
While it is best to avoid exposing your skin to excess sun, everyone will suffer from sunburn at some point in their lives. If you have an aloe plant in your home, simply break off one of the leaves and rub the resulting liquid onto your sunburn. If you do not have an aloe plant, you can find bottled aloe vera in most drug and big box stores.

If you want your skin to maintain its youthful appearance, it is crucial to take proper care of it. Keeping skin clean and hydrated, and avoiding prolonged sun exposure are all steps you can take to keep your skin in great shape. Start taking the advice you learned here and add a few simple steps to your beauty regimen.
