Five Beneficial Uses of Vaseline

There are many different substances out there that are able to improve your skin if used correctly. Some of these products are very expensive and are only sold in certain stores, while others you can find on the shelves of practically every store for a low price. Petroleum jelly is one of those things, most commonly known as Vaseline — the biggest brand name out there. Here are some great uses of petroleum jelly.

When it comes to a moisturizer, nothing on the market has the power to improve your skin for the price of petroleum jelly. Applying a thin layer of Vaseline to your face before you sleep at night will not only help your skin to become a lot smoother, but it can also help to prevent wrinkles, and it creates a barrier that dirt cannot penetrate. So while you’re using this jelly, your pores are actually well protected. Just remember to thoroughly wash it off in the morning.

If you’re not the type of individual who likes to use fake fingernails to impress, then the odds are pretty good that you like to keep your real nails looking good. A great way to ensure the health of your nails is to use petroleum jelly on them. It moisturizes the nail which helps to prevent cracks, and a nail that grows free of cracks and well moisturized also grows a lot stronger and thicker. A simple application of petroleum jelly can pay off in a big way on your nails.

You don’t have to walk around 10 hours a day or serve in the military to have problems with your feet. As long as you put on shoes, the odds are great that you suffer from dry skin on your feet and other issues. Using petroleum jelly on your feet can help you to solve many of these problems. If you ever want to walk around barefooted on the beach somewhere, make sure you’re taking care of those feet by using Vaseline on them at night. You can put some petroleum jelly on and then throw some socks on to ensure that you don’t smear it all over your sheets.

This is essentially the same as using the petroleum jelly on your face. What you’re looking for here is a way to moisturize your skin. If you have dry skin naturally, then applying a thin layer of petroleum jelly nightly is a great way to improve your overall skin. And even if you have oily skin, you won’t necessarily have to worry about Vaseline contributing to the problem. It’s a solid petroleum product that isn’t oily.

Use on your wounds.

If you have any cuts or abrasions on your skin, they could scab up and ultimately leave scars. At the very least, the surrounding skin will become dry and cracked as well which is something that you simply don’t have to deal with if you use petroleum jelly on your wounds. Just make sure your wound is closed and clean before applying.

These few uses for petroleum jelly can help keep your skin clean and moisturized. You might not think that such an inexpensive product would have so many uses, but Vaseline is like a miracle product for many out there.
